Beam signs new European Distribution Agreement

Beam International Limited (ASX: BEM) is pleased to announce that it has entered into a new distribution agreement for all the European territories for its Melbourne House range of computer and video games with Infogrames Entertainment.
Under the new agreement, Infogrames will be responsible for distributing the complete range of Melbourne House titles throughout Europe for the next three years. This includes titles to be released on PC CD-ROM format as well as console titles, such as titles for the Sony PlayStation.
Infogrames Entertainment is the leading European producer and publisher of interactive entertainment programs with well-known, successful titles such as Captain Blood, Mandragore, Drakkhen and Alone in the Dark. In 1997, Infogrames took over Philips Media's multimedia software publishing and distribution operations into their operations.
Adam Lancman, Beam's Managing Director, commented: "We are extremely proud to formalise our relationship with Europe's leading company. We are confident that this partnership will result in Melbourne House titles achieving maximum results in Europe."
The first title to be released under this agreement will be the sequel to Beam's successful 1997 release, Krush Kill 'N Destroy (KKnD). The new real-time strategy game, 'KKnD2: Krossfire' as it will be known, will be released world-wide in late April 1998.
"This agreement is the first of a series of major regional distribution agreements we are negotiating. These agreements give Beam an unsurpassed level of distribution on a world-wide basis, as well as giving us much greater control over the marketing and promotion of our titles," added Mr. Adam Lancman. "This is a major step forward for Beam."
