Beam and Roadshow Interactive sign Distribution Agreement

Beam International Limited (ASX: BEM) and Roadshow Interactive today announced that they had finalised a new distribution agreement for Beam's computer and video games for the Australian, New Zealand and selected South-East Asian markets.
The companies expect that this agreement will result in sales in excess of A$6 million over the next three years. These sales are in addition to projected sales of A$80 million in the next three years that Beam expects from its agreements covering the North American and European markets.
Based in Sydney, Roadshow Interactive is the multimedia distribution division of Roadshow Entertainment Pty Ltd, part of Village Roadshow Ltd. (ASX: VRL).
Under the new agreement, Roadshow Interactive will be responsible for distributing the complete range of Melbourne House titles throughout Australia, New Zealand, Singapore and Malaysia for the next three years. This includes titles to be released on PC CD-ROM format as well as console titles, such as titles for the Sony PlayStation.
"There is no doubt that Roadshow is a leader in the area of distribution of multimedia products in this region, and since Beam and Roadshow are the two leading Australian companies in the multimedia field, we have been talking to each other for some time. Up until now, we were never in a position to work together, and so we are especially delighted to finally sign this agreement with them," commented Adam Lancman, Beam International Limited's Managing Director.
"Roadshow Interactive is extremely delighted to have formed a partnership with Australia's leading publisher and developer, Melbourne House and Beam International", added Milt Barlow, CEO and President of Roadshow Entertainment. "The calibre of titles that can be expected from the group is incredible."
Roadshow Interactive maintains distribution offices throughout Australia as well as Singapore.
The first title to be released under this agreement will be 'KKnD2: Krossfire'. This title is the sequel to Beam's successful 1997 release, Krush Kill 'N Destroy (KKnD).
