Beam signs agreement to sell computer game businesses

Beam International Limited (ASX: BEM) today advised that it had completed an agreement with Infogrames to sell its computer game businesses.
 The Company had announced on February 9, 1999 that it was in advanced negotiations for the sale of the game development and publishing businesses.
 Infogrames is a leading European producer, publisher and distributor of interactive entertainment software, and is listed on the primary of the Paris Bourse.
Under the sale of game businesses agreement, Infogrames will continue the games development activities previously carried out by Beam at its Melbourne office, including continuing employment for about 100 staff.
 Completion is subject to some conditions precedent, including obtaining shareholder approval for the transaction. A resolution to approve the sale of the game businesses has previously been circulated to shareholders and an Extraordinary General Meeting of the Company, to be held on Tuesday 6th April 1999 to consider the matter.
