Flinders University and the State Library of South Australia are pleased to present talks from two internationally-renowned digital preservationists.

Andreas Lange is the Director of the Computerspiele Museum, a unique museum in Berlin and one which was also a partner in the recent EU-funded KEEP project (Keeping Emulation Environments Portable). KEEP was led by the Bibliotheque Nationale and involving many of Europe’s National Libraries. He is a Partner Investigator on the ARC-funded “Play It Again” Linkage Project, administered at Flinders University. Andreas will introduce the Computerspiele Museum, and discuss some of the projects in which he has been involved.

Dr Anne Laforet is a net.art preservationist, scholar and researcher based in Strasbourg. Anne is a visiting scholar at Flinders University, on the ARC Future Fellowship “Creative Micro-Computing in Australia, 1976-1992”. Anne will introduce the issues around preserving digital art and reflect on some of the projects she has been involved with, including the European research project “Digital Art Conservation” (led by ZKM, Center for Art and Media in Karlsruhe, Germany) on which she worked from 2010 to 2012.

A/Prof. Melanie Swalwell will chair the event. Melanie is an ARC Future Fellow at Flinders University, co-convenor of the Digital Heritage Research Group, and Chief Investigator and Project Leader of the ‘Play It Again’ ARC Linkage Project.
